The car "thinks" you left a fob in the car.

Either turn off the fob left in the car warning, or else move the fob away from the door a little sooner after you're out of the car and have closed the door.

Thank you,i appreciate it.I've noticed my keyfob is sensitive.Sometimes when detailing the car and bend over it,the alarm will sound and the trunk will unlatch...lol. Needless to say,i don't keep it in my pocket anymore when i'm doing that.

Not an ignorant question at all. I've had the same thing happen to me.

The fob reminder happens to everyone sooner or later and is just the nature of using an antenna and RF signal to try to determine the fobs location relative to the car.

As far as the accidental button pushes, there are fob covers that recess the buttons a little and make it harder to inadvertently hit them.

No question is stupid, if you don't know ask. I tell my kids that all the time. Then they ask me, "daddy why do you spend all your money on your car"? My response, "don't ask me that question".

It's important to understand that the chiming that you hear when you open the door to get in the car means that the car thinks that you left the fob in the car the last time you got out...it has nothing to do with the fob location now. This can happen when the car is in a tight garage and requires the door to be closed while you are standing right near it, maybe even leaning over it a bit. As you close the door, step back a step or two towards the rear of the car, then go ahead and walk forward along the car.

The first 'fix' just doesn't work man, as least on my car; have everything turned off ('12 GS). And the second one only sometimes. Annoying as hell when alone, and just plain embarrassing with a passenger . But nothing we can do; they all do it, so got to live with it.

You can turn off the fob warning via options in your dic iirc.

If you mean the chiming when you go to get in the car, that is not adjustable through the DIC options...it will always happen if the car thinks the fob was left in the car the last time you exited the car. If you step back from the doorjam area a bit, when exiting the car, at the moment the door closes, this behavior can be avoided.
