Default HP/TQ gains from a cai and a dyno tune? (LS2).

05 Z-51 manual trans with 23000 miles on it.

Anyone know what gains at the tire from a cai and a dyno tune?

Could I gain 25 rwhp? Also whats the average stock power numbers?

Thanks.

Sounds about right... With intake, exhaust, & tune I made 410 RWHP 412 RWTQ w\ my LS3... I Dont have a before # but on the same dyno a stock ls3 vette made 375 RWHP so I gaines 35 RWHP W/ those mods... So I don't see why you can't pick up 25rwhp. .

Another good mod for the LS2 is the FAST intake - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...st-intake.html

My 05 Z51 6 speed has 46,xxx miles. Mods are Nxt Step Performance axle back, Vararam, and tune. CAI (and axle backs for that matter) do not show up heavy on a dyno, but do on the track. I wish I had dynoed mine bone stock to see what it was. I believe LS2 6 speeds dyno 340-345 stock, some a bit higher and some a bit lower (on dynojet).

Thanks for that. I keep reading that the axle back isnt worth it as the stock exhaust flows very well?

How does it do at the track?

intake alone will not give you those numbers on a dyno. they work better on the road where you will gain close to that. if that is all you are doing you may want to add a t-stat for best results. dyno numbers can break your heart though

Axle backs are more about sound than anything really. A search on here will find people gaining 2-3 tenths in the quarter from their switch to a Vararam. Not sure if you plan to mod past CAI and tune, but what is pretty restrictive is the LS2 intake. A swap to a FAST 102 has shown gains of 15-30 whp from that alone. I have a set of headers going on next weekend and hope my FAST 102 arrives by then...will post results.

An intake will net you somewhere around 10-15 rwhp with a tune.

With a FAST & headers you will see a nice gain in HP/TQ.

Bang for the buck, the CAI and tune would offer the biggest gains. The FAST is what I'd recommend next as the stock intake manifold is worse than an LS6 and the headers last if all bolt-ons can't done at the same time to negate re-tune fees. The heads would offer comparable gains as the intake or headers, but the gains won't be across the board like the other two and the gains would be much better with the extra lift from an aftermarket cam.

It is cheaper to do that, but will not net you the same results. A ported LS2 is on par with a LS6 for power gains on a LS2, ~10hp. A FAST 102 is a direct fit and nets ~25hp.

Just the heads alone should net ~25hp, but the gains will be 4k+ rpm. If you are doing the work yourself it might be worth it, but the intake will already be off so I'd look at upgrading it while you're in there. Would also consider springs if you plan on doing a cam down the road. The exhaust would be easy to do at the same time as well, LS7 exhaust manifolds would provide ~15hp gain if not wanting to buy long tube headers or not planning on running a large cam.
