Took delivery of my 2007 C6 Convertable , July 2006 ..thats 7 years ago factory battery still working ..

better safe than sorry will replace before it fails , have a deposit down for a C7 Convertable & brother in law interested in buying my
C6..

Whats recomendation , thinking I was only lucky with Delco & was thinking of Nappa or Duralast ,

I got seven years out of the original Delco in my 05. It could have gone longer with just a charge but I decided to buy a new Delco last year. So far so good. Maybe I won't need another until 2020.

up north batteries last longer (the heat kills them)

if you are selling the car stick anything in it. $100 and call it a day

The OEM Delcos are as cheap as anything else, and fit perfectly, so why change? I'd definitely change it as a precaution after 7 years.

We too have had good luck with both OEM and replacement Delcos. The only issue is that if yours dies under warranty on a weekend/holiday, you probably can't find a Delco dealer that's open. For that reason, some folks recommend Auto Zone, Walmart, etc. If they have you size in stock...

I use Delco now and the cheaper one if there is a pick; but the one time I used an Interstate battery it was "outstanding", it lasted forever.

I have tried all those gel, etc. high priced batteries, some well over $200 and that was awhile ago and they all fell short on longevity but Hey, they sure looked pretty! After talking to a guy who runs a battery warehouse he told me something interesting:

1) There really are not that many manufactures of batteries.

2) Buy the less expensive one even in the same brand because the ones rated for your car have more than enough power! & will last longer: Why? because they are not trying to cram twelve "much thiner plates" into a space were only eight regular/standard plates should go with proper separation, etc. so the over stuffed batteries have a bad habit of going bad for a number of reasons. I now agree with this after buying a few less expensive batteries, they are just more dependable and I have not replaced one yet. Some of our cars sit for two to three weeks and more outside before being started too.

I must admit I was real leery going cheaper the first time because I can afford any battery, most of us can and I always want the best but now I"m a believer!

YOU WILL NOT CATCH "ME" BUYING THE NEXT "SUPER DUPER" LIGHT THE CITY UP BATTERY!!!

In corvette that I have own always used OEM Batteries. Never had issue or problem.
