Default Tire size ratio, how much can you deviate from 1.18 ratio?

How much can you move away from the 1.04 ratio?

I've read many have issues of the traction control kicking in with the wrong tire size.

I was looking at running C5 rims with snows
225/50R17 fronts & 255/45R18 rears difference 1.18 ratio

That was the closest I could find (prefer going down the 1" to the 17s and 18s for the snow)

I used http://www.sizemytires.com/calculators/compare

Just found out I can't run the c5 rims, because of the Z51 has bigger brakes.

So the c5 rims are for sale.

On the fence of just running the stock rims, or find one pair of 18" fronts and run them on the rear (more sidewall, thinner tire)
