Built Z51 T56 or Stock Tr6060
I'm not sure what to do with my transmission. My 06 Z51 trans has a bad 1st gear Syncro and a noise under load in second gear.
The car is making 480 ish whp and I have a turbo kit going on it in the near future
There is 2 options on the table now. Tear my trans out without a hoist in my garage and send it away to get built. Roughly $1200-$1700 and 2 weeks down time.
I really don't want to pull it myself without a hoist on my back but I will
OR
I have a can get an 08 Z51 Tr6060 with 15K miles and take it to a buddies shop and swap it out on the hoist in a day or two.
Which tranny will be better in the long run.
I'm leaning towards the 08 TR6060 because of the fact it can be swapped in and out on a weekend.
And it has a higher torque rating.
But It will cost a bit more to buy the Tr6060.
Before I try and buy the TR6060 I just want to be sure that the 08 Z51 TR6060 will 100% bolt in with no modifications.
