RESET CHECK ENGINE LIGHT 09 ZR1...Battery died!!!! How to fix???
My battery died after a detail shop left the lights on for a hour or two. Now the check engine light is on and am sure the power going down caused it. How do you RESET the Car so the Check Engine light goes off. I heard unhook the battery for 10 minutes. Others have said a special way on Control panel and Reset button. Any C6 owners know how this is done. Any help or links would be great. Thanks!

Go to Harbor Freight Tools and buy the cheap OBDII test tool and see what code you get and go from there. Buying the tool will be cheaper than having it diagnosed somewhere.
Or buy a DiabloSport Trinity Tuner and find your trouble code then increase you HP by giving it a boxed tune.

Check engine light cleared on its own.
Looks like the car did a recheck on its own after a couple times out and all gone now. That battery going dead must have triggered something. Thanks guys. She is all stock. No tune on her.....

It would be interesting to see what codes would be stored to see what happened. At least the CEL went off by itself and you are all good to go.

Ditto, and as for a scan/code clearing tool, may as well get some use out it, so on that note, what cell phone do you have.
If an I-phone, Dash commander and an amazon $9 WIFI elm327 will not only allow you to monitor the car as you are driving it, but will allow you to read and clear codes as well.
If android, then Torque Pro and an amazon $9 Blue tooth elm 327 has you covered the same way as Dash commander.

I didn't even think about those.
I'll keep those in mind if I need to diagnose anything with my '08 Z51 C6
