The car has 41k. I have not checked the compression.

If it is intermittent I don't see it being a compression issue but checking is not big deal. The first thing I would look (being the easiest) is the spark plug and wire.

plugs and wire are new. I took out the spark plugs and cylinder #1 was the only one that was black, the other 7 where white. Under load it spits out black smoke, even my exhaust tips are all black lol

I took the covers off and found a broken valve spring. I found it on the intake side on #1 cylinder. What doesnt make sense is that they are new PRC .675 springs, I will be giving Texas Speed a call on monday. Thank god they were double springs.

Boost!! I love my ecs kit 1500 . I'm a stock ls7 long block with a btr cam. I've had it on for a year and a half . still running the belt that came with the kit "6rib" making around 860 hp. have made over 50+ passes and ran 9.05 @ 160 mph. the cam I'm running makes the car driver like stock. crazy nice setup. and I drive my car it's not a garage queen .
