You can also watch for a used quality set of long tube headers. They are very easy to install (probably just as easy as your short tubes). You can do it in your driveway on jack stands with very few tools. Just make sure you get the mid pipes with the headers.

Well, I'm hoping they will drop in price a little bit. The BBk ones did for the C5 back in the day, I'm sure these will too. Sometimes autoanything runs a deal. Late last year they could be had for in the 700's, but now discounts don't apply. etc.

Default shorty Headers

From what I have researched online, yes shorty's will not give you the gains of long tubes, but many say that shorty's will retain more low end torque from idle to mid rpms which is good for daily driving.
Yes the long tubes give you way more torque in the upper RPM ranges. I think I may go with shorty's when the price is right since I'm not tracking my ride, and have my most fun from 0 mph up to the speed limlt.

Default Shorty Headers

This shorty header idea may be the answer for a lot of us. One member here has already tried it with success. I like the idea of the ease of installation. You do LT and your messing with the cats, the o2 sensor locations and H/X pipe. Shorty's just a few bolts. With a tune and you can get some power. I'm not saying that it's equal to LT. But if LT gets you 40HP and shorty's get you 20 for half the price, that's about right. For those of us not building a fire breathing 600 HP racer, might be the answer. I'll give it a try and post my results. Looking to do this by the end of the year.

Jimy, I just wish the damn things wouldn't cost so much. I'm saving for them too, I'm about a quarter way there, but it's going to be a while. I installed shorty's on my C5 and I loved them. The install was simple, I expect the same with the C6. 20-25HP with tune is good enough for me too. Put it with a FAST102 and you're making some serious power. I cant wait for overtime to kick in!

Does anybody have chassis dyno numbers for before & after a shorty header install? I'm looking for a "base" car, or GS, as they are both the 430/436 hp engine, I'm not concerned about a ZO6.

XGTO I did see that, I'm hoping auto anything will let one of there coupon codes be used eventually on them. Last year you could used the 18 or 20% off coupon on them and they came in around 750 or so....I search them plenty. Thanks

agree...will not buy a pair until I see this..if they give >/= to 8 rwhp then they are probably worth it as a full Z06 exhaust on the back of an LS3 is worth about 10-12 rwhp and much more work.

I wanted a couple things:
1. A little more aggressive sound (already have B&B Fusion), but not super loud LT's.
2. Horsepower boost.
3. Half the price of LT's

I have been looking at these for months. But at $900, no way.

I fell into a deal on Craigslist from a local guy who bought them, then his wife threw a fit and he sold them to me for $550. A guy installed them for $150 and I got a performance tune for $300. So I'm into the whole deal for $1K.

The facts....

Fit and finish - superb. Mechanic said it was a perfect bolt-up, super easy and the quality was the best he had ever seen. Ceramic coated and extremely nice looking.

Sound - Definitely an increase of low-level rumble. At full throttle, look out! SUPER LOUD. But my favorite thing I like about the sound is when I downshift. Definitely has that "header" sound on downshifting.

Performance - When I took the car in for a tune, the initial "before" dyno was 355hp/362tq. (K&N CAI, B&B Fusion open). Added Magnaflow headers and tune (by JusTune in KC). The "after" dyno read 397hp/402tq. I couldn't be more pleased.

Real world driving - This is now a legitimate 3.9 zero-to-sixty car. The acceleration is ferocious. I can't believe the difference 40hp makes.

Please remember that the combo of the headers and the tune resulted in the hp increase, not just the headers.

The best part of the deal was the price. A full set of LT's installed, with catted x-pipe + tune would have run me over $2000.

I would recommend these if you are on a budget and if you can get a deal.

you do know that it WAS the TUNE that gave you 90-95% of the HP gain.

Both those points should count for something: here on CF as vendor, less expensive.

My LS3 yielded "0" horse power when tuned in stock form. After the Z06 exhaust upgrade and another tune I gained 20whp and 15 rwtq.

We are currently building a new website, some things are falling off the old one and we aren't adding anything newer, just shoot me a message via PM here or give me a call and I'll gladly price out anything you need.

The website change has been an unfortunately inconvenient process for both us and our customers I am, however, quite willing to help you out directly if you'll give me the chance!
