Default Cam + ARH Headers LS3 498.2 RWHP

http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation...er-street.html ^First thread with Low Lash Solid Roller No Header.
I just picked up my car from Lethal Racing. They installed my new ARH headers
and a new dyne tune. Picked up 63.7 RWHP with the new headers. While I was there Nick checked to valve lash after 1500 miles no adjustment needed. Engine HP showed 572.9 so thats about 142.9 over stock. After headers RW 498.2 HP 459.5 TQ I think that's good.

That's impressive for what looks to be a mild cam. Does a solid roller cam make more power than hydraulic if the specs are the same? I change my valve springs every year anyway, maybe i should go solid...

I would rather have a Low Lash solid cam any day. More power no noise it will RPM much higher with the same spring as a HYD. You will need to change springs before you need to reset the valve lash. I am still having some fun with my new toy so everyday so far I have been turning it to about 7300 with no problems I am sure it will go higher but this is my daily driver. I am doing this to test it out to see how long it will live. If this cam were Hyd the spec would be 222/600/230.580/114 but the solid numbers are a little larger because we are giving it some lash which knocks it back to the Hyd numbers.

The solid loses some lift due to the lash. Maybe a bit of duration.

Yes it will lose some lift and some duration depending on how much lash you are running and what the lobe was designed for. This cam runs with .010 hot it is set with .000 lash cold after it heats up it will go to .010 I would like to run .006 and I would if I had a steel block. I could set the lash at .004 cold or .006 hot but this combination is working fine.

I am just re-looking at some other dyno sheets on this forum and noticing the torque @ 3000 RPM ...WOW 400 ft/lbs (in above).........most are mid 300s.....
