Melting Slicks
They are actually fairly easy to install yourself. The OEM LS3 has the catalytic converters attached directly to the cast iron exhaust manifolds (along side the oil pan). This is so they heat up quicker. When you remove these, you now have lots of room along side the engine for headers.
Aftermarket header systems use small hi-flow catalytic converters installed in the mid pipes (pipes that go from the header collector to the over the axle tail pipe).
So, once you remove the OEM manifolds, cats, and mid pipes, the headers go in quite easily. There are several detailed threads on here on how to install. With someone assisting it can be done in a few hours.

Burning Brakes
Me and my 64 year old wife did mine. O2 sensor wires are the hardest part. I have PFADT and they fit like a glove.
