Default Viking double adjustable shocks VSK218

Experiences? Good, bad, ugly... Pretty sweet deal for all four corners for $690 shipped. But I personally don't know anyone who has ever used them.

Thanks in advance.

Any more feedback? Just put these on my mustang and they rock. Would like to get a set for the corvette too.

Really only few questions if someone can find any details on them.

Are they rebuild-able, and what adjustment do they have (if just high speed, or lower speed dampening as well).

Also, how does the rebound valving compare to say a Koni FSD when you get it to road chatter?

Well I have them on my mustang. You have 2 *****, one for rebound and one for compression. No idea on high speed/low speed. I don't think they are a super fancy road racing shock like an ohlins/etc. They are a drag oriented shock which is why I'm interested in them. They are rebuildable.

From what I've seen in they are in line with QA1 and Afco drag shocks, but middle price and middle to top performance. A good deal compared to the afcos, but nicer than the QA1s. I want something that will let more squat and weight transfer. They worked magic on my mustang, so hoping they can do the same for the vette.

I went ahead and bought the full set. Added these along with WCC sway bars and wow what a huge difference in handling on my 740hp Z06. Fit like stock and have alot of tuning variations for different types of driving.

Good Info.

What kind of ride height adjustments do these shocks allow for? I have a C6 base model and want to lower overall height but I am looking for a quality product.

Any recommended settings for autocross?

You will have to get with Viking about their ride height specifics. I am only about 1/2"-3/4" lower than stock. The shocks come with a decent tuning guide to get you started for whatever your needs are. I went with settings in between "drag" and "performance handling" and am exceptionally pleased with the handling characteristics so far. Front- compression: 8 clicks, rebound: 12 clicks. Rear- compression: 6 clicks, rebound: 10 clicks. But you have a lot of adjustment range to get you where you want to be. Oh, and another note, Rear shocks get mounted ***** in, and the Fronts get mounted ***** out.

very cool... how hard are they to adjust? can you just remove the wheel, or is more needed?

I put the QA-1 adjustable on my C6 A6 2009 base vette and could not be happier. I love the fact that I can adjust them for whatever reason, softer, harder etc. Mine are single adjustable though. Adjustment is super easy: stick your hand behind tire and click away. rears are easier to get to than fronts but not hard at all.

I changed out due to the car having 55000 miles on original and they started clunking when going in and out of the garage with a 1/2 inch lip.
