Default Sluggish Throttle

I purchased a c6 3LT used with 37k miles about 2 months ago. It has an LS2 engine, but the throttle appears sluggish. If I mash on the gas pedel from idle in neutral there is a delay before the engine revs. If I step on the gas pedel slowly there seems to be no delay. Am I making sense? Is this common? Is there a fix?

Maybe normal, maybe not.

How sluggish is sluggish?

I'd try to find another similar C6 (engine and transmission) and let the owner blip his throttle a few times and then let him try yours. That way, he won't be worried about you abusing his engine.

IIRC, there is a soft rev limiter at about 4,000 rpm when in neutral but shouldn't have any effect coming off idle.

Be sure both engines are warmed up before testing, and Good Luck.

The stock LS2 C6 Corvettes do have a bit of a sluggish throttle response. It's something that can be easily cleared up with a custom tune though. We have a lot of customers come to us for the same reason and then end up going with a full custom dyno tune for extra power too.

If you're interested in having your Corvette tuned, please feel free to send me a PM or call the number in my signature. We're located in South-East PA (West Chester). I'd love to earn your business!

Is it sluggish when the car is in gear? Sluggish in neutral doesn't mean a thing. Sluggish in neutral just changes the noise made.

Get a tune. My friend has a stock LS2, I'm modified with a ported throttle body and tune. He said its a huge difference in throttle response, I agree.

I had Chucks tune and COW BOOSTER in my 06 Coupe and he added the COW Booster to my wife's 11 Grand Sport Vert.

The throttle response improvement in BOTH cars is phenomenal! You will NO LONGER complain about a LAZY throttle!

The tune in the 06 turned it into a beast!
