Default 2008 rear hatch auto close isn't working

The auto close isn't working om ZO6. I went through the owners manual several times reading all the fuses, but the only ones I found were for Hatch Release. Is there a fuse for the auto shut & lock? That was where I was going to begin my search for the failure, but if you guys know something else that it could be please help me. Thanks!

Z06 does not have an Auto rear hatch closer, it was pulled to strip weight.

So you have to close the rear hatch a touch harder for it to lock home than a base model with auto closer.

If you are having to slam the latch hard to get it to lock, then check the alignment of the car mounted lock to hatch bar that locks into the lock for the correct index. Also, make sure that the lock is not packed with debris that is causing the lock problem (carpet, lint, and what every can find it way down into the lock).

It was added to the Z06 and ZR1 for model year 2009.
