Default How much to mill LS3 heads?

Planning on doing heads/cam after finding a few good deals and deciding that while a blower is awesome, I don't need to spend so much money.

I'm likely going to run a spin monster cam, not 100% on that but it's likely. And I'm getting a set of ported LS3 heads. It's my option how much to mill them down. I'd like to run a thinner HG and mill the heads as well to get decent compression out of it.

What amount of milling would you guys recommend? It can be on the aggressive side as PTV clearance shouldn't be an issue with the spin monster cam. I will likely run at least a 50/50 mix of pump and E85 (or full E85)... Recommendations would be great. (Power predictions would be cool too if you want to speculate)

Thanks all!

Not knowing where you are located, I recommend you call Tom Wong at Wong Engineering.

The Spinmonster can tell you exactly what will work.

Spin is a great guy, and is extremely knowledgeable about cams.

Thanks all!
IIRC, Spin ground valve reliefs in the pistons when using LS3 heads and installing a thin gasket with milling.

He got back to me - 0.040 HG with 0.030 milling with .040 valve intake reliefs in the pistons.
