How do you properly fill a transmission? On mine I turned on the car after the stall install and I kept pumping oil in until it started dripping out of the drain, is this the correct way to
Do
It ?

After a fresh converter install your going to want to start the car and shift it from park to drive leaving it in each selector for a few seconds and back to park. I usually do that a few times. Make sure trans temp is around 80F-120F. I know there is a spec for the temp but i forget it. With the car level remove the bolt from the transmission pan. Fill the trans with fluid till it starts to leak from the hole. Once it starts leaking that is the full mark.

Hit the track 2 weeks later and did a 10.88 1.49 60' Then did a 10.78 1.46 60' No more hopping or diving. It just takes off and plants down.
C6David is absolutely correct. I have same SS4000 stall. I put an extra 1.25 quarts above the overflow level and increased shift pressures. Went from 1.51 to 1.46. It was hitting so much harder off the line I had to back off to 2/3 throttle to prevent spinning, where as the colder weekend before I could go WOT but with the slight flare from too low of tranny fluid it didn't pull as hard. Good luck!

Default Stall up?

What are you guys stalling your Yank SS 4000 up to? So far i've found the best launches at 3200rpm at 66-75% throttle rolling into WOT before the 1-2 shift.

I was still playing with mine. I started out doing 3000 rolling into it doing high 1.5s and running 11.0. And said screw it if its hooking load it higher. Then did a 3500 and floor it right off the line that yielded a 1.48 60' and 10.88. Last run i had I floored it till it just started to creep and let her have it and that did a 1.46 60' 10.78 run.

How do you guys get it overfilled?
And how much do you raise the shift pressures by?

When i fill mine i get it to the full mark first. Put the bolt back in then add another quart. I dont know how much my pressure was raised he just said he raised it as high as he was comfortable going with the stock 6l80.
