Some recent outings at the Drags....
Over the past couple of months I've finally had time to get the car to our local track to get some runs in before winter closes everything down. In October I was able to go a couple of times with the weather being a little better here in the south. Here is a couple of videos of myself and Forum member Florit in his nitroused LS1 2000 C5.
My car at this point was running steel wheels a pair of 305/35/19 M/T drag radials no weight reduction of any kind and probably carrying an extra 50lbs in camera gear and a half tank of gas. The 10.36 was the fastest the car had run up to this point with a very mild tune in it. We went back a week later and with the weather slightly better spun on every run. We worked on the tune to take some power down low out and lowered the 1-2 shiftpoint and managed a 10.32 best still killing the 19" radial.
I decided to put a drag pack together and went with Racestar Darkstar 92 rims. I bought the 17x4.5 fronts and 17x9.5 rears and went to a 275/40/17 M/T drag radial. I also put a set of M&H 185/55/17 fronts since I drive to the track which is over an hour from my house. With no other changes to the car and the weather still in the mid 70's I ran a 10.08 still wanting to spin the tire at the 60' clocks.
I tried to get another run in later in the evening but the Pro Mods were running and one of them blew up and oiled the place down and decided to go home. The car has a "9" in it just got to get the spin out of it. I'm really pleased with how the car ran and hopefully after the 1st of the year get back out and get after it again. Between me, Lethal Racing and Cody Burns I think I'm #4 on the LS3 power adder list!
But here are some pics I took at a couple of the outings..

Impressive Tim! Great pics and video. I don't remember that hood the last time I saw you but man it sure looks badass.

Thanks Mike I appreciate it very much. I just installed the hood a couple of months ago and it really helps vent engine heat out. I didn't know if you knew but that's Keith's C5..

Vettes4vets website has been down since thanksgiving. I called Jeff about two weeks ago and he said they are updating their web server provider or some such. He hoped the site would be up and running by Dec 15. Best of all he said plans are in the works to hold the annual event at Talladega. We should all be getting an email when the "I"s are crossed and the "T"s are dotted. Lol.
Fingers crossed
