Trickflow 220 As Cast Springs - Change?
Should I keep the springs that came with the heads or change them?
Just bought a new set of Trickflow 220 As Cast LS2 heads (TFS-3061T002 with Titanium retainers) and was wondering what everyone thinks of the springs that come with it. According to the spec sheet on Trickflow's website, the heads are installed with the following:
1.300" O.D. dual spring (TFS-16306-16) 155 lbs. @ 1.820" installed height
465 lbs. @ 1.200" open
463 lbs. per inch rate
1.100” coil bind, .650" maximum lift (roller rockers)
When going to Trickflow's website for the spring part number (http://www.trickflow.com/partdetail....N=400098++150+ the following specs are listed:
Number of Springs Per Valve: Dual
Outside Diameter of Outer Spring (in): 1.275 in.
Coil Bind Height (in): 1.080 in.
Damper Spring Included: No
Spring Rate (lbs/in): 450 lbs./in.
Inside Diameter of Outer Spring (in): 0.891 in.
Inside Diameter of Inner Spring (in): 0.675 in.
I'm going to be installing the heads with a 230/234 114+2 cam that has .612/.598 lift.

I'm in for results of this setup. ....I've been looking at these heads as well. Heard nothing but great things about them and are considerably less than the tf225's. Should put at or near 500whp
