Catch Can/emissions testing
I would like to mount a catch can but have it not noticeable. Is this even possible and still have access to it for maintance without a lift. Would it have to be removed to pass emission test? I know they are not complaint here in Ca. So it would have to be really stealth concerning the hoses. If not....It would have to be easily removed at testing time buy myself, I have 10 thumbs.
Anyone done this?
Suggestions?

This must be Catch Can month on CF.
I too use an Elite Engineering catch can, It is mounted below the fuel rail covers, very stealthy and would be more so had I ordered a black instead of red. The bracket that came with mine doesn't allow it to be mounted high or in the slot created by the Heimholtz resonator (the box hung off the intake), I believe mine was designed more the the LS-2 motors because of the bracket.
Nobody notices it, it is still easy to clean and my motor is tight enough it doesn't need to be cleaned often, even at hpde.

I am concerned that the unit would have to be removed and the lines plugged before 2 yr inspection.
I need a simple install with easy removal and leaving it look stock.
I do not think the can and the lines would go unnoticed in the visual test.
Looking for a plan to take to the shop to give them a tried and tested procedure.

Most of the quality catch cans appear to be stock---In reality a catch can will make the car have less emissions than stock as it prevents oil from being ingested into the intake manifold---here in calif where I live they know what it's purpose is and don't question it
If a smog shop does they are simply after a re-smog and more of your money-- It is NOT really a performance part just makes your engine run cleaner---

Elite catch can is easy to install and to remove when needed.
To drain the can, just unscrew the bottom section, dump the oil out, and screw it back on.
Back to the first line, the catch can does not have a CARB#, so you will need to pull it for the smog test (will fail the visual part of the test if they notice it) and reinstall it afterwards.
Her is elite's install directions, so click on your car type to see how easy it to install, as well to pull when needed.

I passed back in April with a CCA (black) catch can installed. I did take the Halltech off & reinstalled OEM intake - 10 minute job.
