Default Help! DIC says Temp XXX°

Ok.. Did my searching, and preliminary testing. Haven't been able to solve my problem yet.
Background: 2006 Z06 - 14k miles h/c/i/e/...6L80

Driving today, looked down, DIC says "hot engine - AC not available" or something to the sorts. Gauge reads all the way cold, and DIC says temperature is "XXX°"

From what I have read, I have checked my fan plug, (not melted). I have un-hooked the temp sensor, ohms are good. Turned ignition on, and BOTH sides of the plug read around 6 Volts. Didnt think this was right. Will check with another meter soon. With the temperature plug, un-hooked, the DIC still reads "xxx°".

Knowledgeable Input VERY welcomed!!

Should also note, there is no CEL.

Likely just a bad temp sensor. I haven't replaced one but everyone says it's relatively easy.

Here's a description (post 2) that should get you through it:

Mine was doing the same thing. Bought a new sensor but deployed before I could fix it. I'm swapping the radiator and other parts so I should be able to install it once I get back.

Let me know if it fixes your issue.

This happens to folks every time it starts to get cold outside. Do you have a 160* thermostat? You say no CEL, but did you check for codes? If you have an undertemp code, I believe it's P0128/C0128, the ECT isn't coming up to temp as fast as the ECM expects due to the 160 stat. Have your tuner turn off that code, simple fix,

Ok thanks to all for the info. What would we do without the CF??
I did get it fixed last night.
I do have a 160* stat, but was tuned accordingly. It did throw a...going from memory here.. P0118 and the P0128 code 6Speeder mentioned. I cleared them, and it still gave the same message. Disconnected the battery and held the cables together for a little bit and then buttoned everything back up. Appears to be working properly now!
