Default 2" taller wheel & Drag radial...what will it do at the track?

Can anyone quantify what a 2" taller DR would do at the track to 60',ET & MPH?

I borrowed a set to hit the track after 3 years. They were the only thing I could borrow quickly that would fit over CC brakes on my Carbon Edition Z06.

I had previously run on 17" DR's on my 09Z & I knew the 19's would
de-gear me. It did so much that I didn't need to shift into 4th gear!

Just curious what my bottom could have been on that day if I had smaller diameter wheels/DR's.

Thanks!

Ron

What were the tire sizes and overall diameters of the two combos that were 2" different? What was on the front? If the taller tire was 28" did you see any issues with AH/TC?

One was a 315 35 17 Hoosier 25.6" @ 24lbs, and one was a
Mickey Thompson 305 35 19 , 27.9" @ 34 lbs.

When I ran the 17" I had a stock 18" C6Z06 front wheel/tire.
When I ran the 19" I had a stock 19" C6Z06 Carbon front wheel/tire.

No issues with AH/TC on the drive to and from the track, or during any passes.

Thanks. My builder is putting the finishing touches on my 2012 GS A6 that will have 750 or so RWHP. The car has an ECS SC kit, Alky Control injection, forged 416 ci stroker motor, ProTorque 2600 converter, Century trans, C6 Z06 3.42 rear, plus many other goodies. I am looking for the best rear wheel / tire combo that can fit the stock GS brakes (no drag spindles and 15" wheels), will not set off TC/AH hell when paired with stock fronts, and can get the power to the ground. There seems to be many opinions as to if this can be done.

Thanks Dennis. You went from 18-17.
I technically went from 17-19. Plus the heavier wheel. I'm thinking at least 0.2-0.3 difference.

I used to get a good second or so in 4th gear. No shift too 4th with the 19" tire....We need a math guy or an engineer to do a calculation!

I think its closer to .30 also remember i was at a lower hp so that could have really helped me, but also the height was an inch with actual size listed number but the 305 were new and the 275 were old and bald so side by side it was close to 1.5-2" also it was the weight difference was huge as the 305 was on a CCW 18x 11.5 and the 275 was on c5 17 x8.5 really light, how was the 60 ft difference?

Well[ after 3 years, not being at a rental, and 1st time at the strip with this car (11'Carbon Edition Z), I wasn't expecting my A+ game. I did a best or 1.73 in 4 passes vs. my best in my 09Z of a 1.56.
The 1.73 definitely felt better than a 1.73 though. I'd have guessed it was a low 1.6X worst case at that instant.

Ron your a great driver I doubt you lost your A game. figure you lost half that from the weight of the tires and taller and a little rusty so maybe .15 I find the C6 only finds .12 -.15 for every .10 in 60 ft so you should lose .30 easy with the tall tires
