Believe what you will.

Every single C6 Corvette started out on the assembly line as a -NON- F55 car - a bare chassis. And every C6 Corvette that came OFF the assembly line as an F55 car had that system added as it passed by the stations on the line responsible for adding it (wiring, suspension components, shocks, controller, software, console switch.) So clearly, it was/is possible to add the system to a non F55 car - Bowling Green did it every day. No magic. Nothing tricky. It's just much easier to do when the car is all in pieces like that.

Obvious, but not necessary, since you stated you don't care about how the F55 option functions and are only concerned about the ride height, which is user changeable.

So simply change the height to whatever pleases you and do a realignment.

That response was not directed to you HOXXOH, but to the person that was quoted.

I knew that, but the end result was the same.

We both said, if you like it, then do it.

With enough time, money, and skill; I guess you can do anything. Even crazy stuff like putting a man on the moon.

We would consider adding F55 to our 2009 Z51 if it was practical, but I've never heard anyone else say that it was.

With all the amazing mods people here do their cars, I think someone would have done it if practical, but I've never seen anything to indicate that's it's actually been done.

If there's a base or Z51 car that's driving around with a field-installed F55, I'd be interested in a link.

For the record I do not want to add F55 to my car.

I'm not sure the two efforts are comparable.

Lord knows I am not in any way saying that it's practical to do so - only that it certain seems to be quite doable and that the suggestion that it "can't be done" is definitely debatable at the least. Not to mention that, as you rightly point out, there are no reports of anyone even trying to do it, much less doing so successfully. But that's a far cry from "it can't be done."

I think we all understood that when you said you didn't care about the F55 option. What we are saying is, if you want your car lowered, then have at it. For the record, I don't care if you lower it or not. But if you do, I recommend a realignment.

I never said that I wanted to lower my car...

I asked: Based on the fact that my friends' F55 optioned Corvette sits 1 finger width lower than mine. Does an F55 Optioned Corvette have a lower factory spec'd ride height setting than a non-F55 Corvette? Then I mentioned that I like the stance of their Corvette.

GearhedJim answered my question in Post #2 and then provided me with specs from GM in Post #10. The rest of the thread is technically pointless.
