Header Wrapping headers
For a standard header install on a base C6, is there any benefit to wrapping them with header wrap if they are not coated ?

I'll start w. what I've read on here which is that they end up getting oily and need replacing unlike many coatings. But in the distant past, it's been a convenient (and maybe just a stopgap method) way to keep some of the heat in the header and not under the hood. From today's chemical/coatings, obviously, header coating is the preferred way to go.

Yep, the bakelite plastic end piece on the starter solenoid loves to just cook and shatter where the terminal post are located on it.
Even with coated headers, heat blanket the starter to protect the solenoid from cracking (even a problem on stock manifolds/stock exhaust systems as well over time).
