Default F55 quarter mile racing question

What would the ideal setting be for quarter mile racing ? Sport or touring. I've ran my A6 grand sport a handful
Of times and have completely overlooked this setting so I'm curious to know if theirs a
Diffrence between both at the drag strip . I tried to do some research but could only find diffrences in turns and regular driving

I am just guessing here, but I think the touring would have a looser shock and allow better weight transfer.

but I would really like for someone with more experience with these suspension to weigh in. We start racing in the next couple of weeks in Texas

I've found touring to have an advantage anytime traction becomes a concern. In the sport setting the shock reaction time is too quick to allow the time needed for maximum weight transfer.
Best 60' is 1.48 with a 4K Yank, 2.56 gear, and Hoosiers with a bolton LS3.

So far I've gotten a 1.49 with 2.73s , yank 3600 , cam and bolt ons, that was on stalling at 2k , it dead hooked on 28 hoosier slicks at 17psi , same set up on a 100 Shot got me a 1.38 also stalling at 2k , when I stalled it to 2500 it broke the tries loose off the line , this was on sport mode tho, if tour is better then imma go back and try it with less psi and hope to improve my 60 ft

I hope you're not missing the point here. While wheelstands look cool, getting the wheels off the ground slows your ET, unless you have enough power to keep them from quickly dropping again. The tour setting allows the front to come up at a slower rate and stay up longer rather than dropping suddenly. That transfers weight to the rear for a longer period of time.

That pic and this one were both in the 1.60 range and you can see 40-50' out it still hasn't settled down completely. Now I'm running 60' times in the 1.48-1.50 range and well into 2nd gear before the front drops much.

Yes

Have fun this Sat. and try a few different rpm for launches too. You might find something higher will work with the tour setting.

Well I ended up
Going to the track last night because today was a trucks only event, only made 2 passes on motor before it gout rained out. first pass was on touring , it trapped more but had a slower 60ft , second run was on sport, better 60ft but less mph, might vary from car to
Car

Inconclusive results with only 2 passes. Especially when the second one beat your 60' PB. Since you got rained out, I'd guess the DA dropped between passes too. Keep records of DA on each pass and use the Dragtimes calculator to record adjusted times. For temps, Hum, and BP, I prefer to use weatherunderground.com (find the closest station to the track). the use Google Earth for mid-track elevation. The Dragtimes weather and track info has several errors and only uses the closest major airport hourly reports, but their calculator works just fine.

Imma see how it works with the nitrous , I'm starting to think that the 28 might be too much tire for motor now that we getting the launch dialed in, forgot to mention that the psi was dropped to 14 for these 2 runs compared to 17 in my previous best , that has to be a big factor

On decently prepped 1/4 mile tracks, the general rule for streetable cars is to run the highest pressure on the narrowest tire that still provides maximum traction. Since track prep and weather conditions are not always the same, then tire pressure is the only method to compensate.
