maintenance, recommendations and what to mod next? new c6 owner
Hey everybody,
So I've just become the new owner of an 06 c6 with 35k after my father passed away at the age of 42. Im only 22 but I've always been a corvette lover as he raised me, just didn't think I'd be taking one one this early. Everything has been maintained on the car extensively and I've just started to start the mods with gm off-road performance exhaust and vararam cold air intake. At 35k what else should I be replacing?(plugs, wires any flushs?) before going further.. I'm not looking to make this a racecar just to make a very quick street car.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Cheers

I would change the coolant if it hasn't been done. It's due every 5 years. No need for plugs yet, they are not due until 100k. Get a set of long tube headers and a good Dyno tune and you will feel a nice improvement!

Good point on the coolant. Yes I've hummed and hawed on headers for some time now after putting the gm performance exhaust(borla stingers) but here in Manitoba they have been pretty strict with vehicle modifications. I've wanted to do borla long tubes no cats but I assume that will be very loud and doesn't pass emissions. Not sure how happy I would be with a set of long tubes and high flow cats..or if I would get away with no cats.
Thanks for the advice.

Sorry for your loss. Coolant for sure. Diff fluid. If it is a manual, clutch fluid. Enjoy it like your dad did.

Thanks everybody. I do remember the clutch reservoir was drained and refilled a bunch of times and the diff always used to shatter, it was taken to dealership and refilled with a special diff fluid but problem in still there. I have been looking at headers and am interested in the American Racing packages with x pipe.
