C6 Engine Swap
Does anyone know the estimated labor hours to do an engine swap in a C6 with automatic transmission. I ask because I took my car to a shop and took them a complete crate engine for swap out and when I picked the car up they billed me $4100 and said the labor manual called for 52 hours but they gave me a discount.

Way too much, in my opinion. I paid 10 hours.
My first post was a mistake, I thought you just got a quote, not had it completed

Yes I did get a quote and then he said when I picked the car up that he had quoted me labor on a C4 because that was what I told him I had. Thinking I might go to the Better Business Bureau with this one since we did talk about C4s while I was there because I own 3 of them but he knew what I brought in since it was sitting there. Original quote, IN WRITING, was 14 hours.

I can usually pull one in my garage in about 5 hours and install it in 7.

I find that quite interesting myself. I would have done this in my shop but I just had a knee replacement and was not up to it. Going to ask for some money back since my wife picked the car up because i was on travel he still has my core. This was a complete long block with coils and everything so I hope it's all still there when I go get it. He may even want storage cost for two weeks so I may take my friends with me. He even told my wife that he reduced his labor rate from $275 an hour because it was an easy job. I just did the same swap in mt C3 and did it in one day and drove the car to a show the next day and it's a big block. Just do my own work in the future.
Thanks Guys

By the way the old engine runs great but needs a valve job. 44K on it but it sat for 4 years and now the valves leak. Does not use oil and always had Mobil 1 in it so if anyone needs a complete engine I will be putting it on the sale board. Can ship in the origional crate.

The dealer replaced my LS2 for $3,000 labor but that was 4 years ago.
Blew it up 6 months after warranty ran out!
