Serpentine Belt Brand?

I really don't think it matters. Delco doesn't make belts...they put their name on them from a different maker, Gates, Goodyear and Dayco are the biggest domestic ones. My factory belt in the Vert is made by a japanese maker that I can't remember...I think it is Mitsubishi. I would go by price as long as you get a major maker.

A friend gave me his "old" belt with 15K miles on it, so I could replace my OEM belt at 123K miles. It didn't look much different, as in having no cracks or signs of stress, other than mine was not as black.
So the OEM Mitsubishi must be pretty good too.

Belts now are made of EPDM rubber and are totally different than belts in the old days. My SUV had the original belt when I sold it with 150,000 miles and 17 years on it. The belt still looked fine. A bit like spark plugs have become, belts are just not really a regular maintenance item anymore. While I wouldn't put on a no-name brand belt, I think any major brand is fine and I certainly wouldn't replace a belt unless it was showing obvious problems.

My belt is making a lil noise at cold start. If I shoot just a very small shot of WD40 on it. the noise stops instantly. So with that said, I should just replace the belt I assume. My harmonic ballancer is not wobbling either.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I saw that so many of you had success with the Goodyear Gatorback belts that I got one (the main belt; stock # ends in 798) and put it on my 2001 5.7L. THE NOISE IS GONE; HOWEVER---- While replacing the belt, I noticed that as I would release and apply the belt tension on the main tensioner pulley (top of engine, passenger side), that the pulley would turn slightly sideways. (Tension off, the pulley would be straight; tension on, the pulley would go slightly sideways again.) Even though the new belt eliminated the squeak/squeal, I am convinced that the pulley was the main problem and I did not want a pulley out of line. I have just replaced the tensioner/pulley ($40 for the part). It took me less than 10 minutes to get the belt off, unscrew the two tensioner/pulley bolts and remove, and replace with the new tensioner. I've got a total of $60 in the belt and tensioner/pulley.
