Default LG 1-7/8+Corsa mufflers.. confused

Hi guys
I'm wondering if I bought LG 1-7/8 headers and Corsa 14469 mufflers
do they fit directly? because from what I read the Corsa mufflers are coming with 2.5' pipes and the LG is 3'!!

please if you have any answer before I pay the money tomorrow

No that won't fit but corsa makes mufflers with a 3 inch pipe for the Z06 as well. That should bolt right up to the Super Pro Headers. If I'm not mistaken, LG also makes a street series with a 2.5 inch pipe that'll bolt right up to the Corsa mufflers you mentioned.

As Jake stated.......you need the correct pipe diameter. Both the LG Streets and Superpro headers come with a 3" collector. You need to insure that your x-pipe and axle pipes are the same.

IMHO: If your build is under 500hp then 1-3/4" with 2.5" pipes is sufficient. For 500+ hp builds use 1-7/8" with 3" pipes.

The 2.5" pipe from LG coming only with 1-3/4 headers not 1-7/8, I think I will contact Corsa to see if there option to get 3" pipes.

My build is 416ci from ERL and TFS 255 heads so I think we will go more than 500hp right?

Going to contact Corsa to find out if there any way to get 3" pipes.

Thanks

Well your base C6 doesn't have LG Super Pros on it stock. Once you change your stock headers/x-pipe to the LG, you will have a 3 inch diameter pipe rather than 2.5. The Z06 mufflers will then fit your base. In other words, if you get the LG Super Pro headers and the Z06 3 inch style mufflers it should be fine on your base.

Jake
Don't you think the Zo6 mufflers are bigger than base C6?

Yes, but you're getting bigger headers so they have to be to fit the headers.

He recommended the Sports because they cost more. That's what a retailer does. It's called "high-balling."

You can get the Sports in a three inch version if that's what you want.

Like I said before: 500+ hp builds should be all three inch system.

All of our headers are designed for a stock or stock replacement muffler. This includes the Street Series and the Super Pro's.

So if you want to buy our 1 7/8 Super Pro's for a base C6, it will neck down to 2.5" right at the muffler so you can use your stock...or Corsa...Borla...B&B....whatever with no modifications.

Now, for those of you that want a full 3" exhaust you can buy Z06/ZR1 style mufflers and just let your sales rep know and they will include the Z0/ZR pipes at the back keeping it a full 3" system. We only suggest that on manual transmission cars, as the auto cars are not a plug and play. You will have modify the over axle pipes to clear the trans.

Let me know if you have any questions...I hope that didn't confuse you.

Hi Anthony
Actually I'm little bit confused.
What I understand from your reply is that if I bought the 1-7/8 3" X-pipe super pro headers for base C6 and Corsa sport mufflers 2.5" it will fit directly without any welding or cutting or modifications is that right?
So the outlet of this X-pipe is 3" or 2.5"? Or there is some connection pipes?

You order headers for a base model or GS Corvette and yes it will neck down to 2.5" at the mufflers so it all bolts together without modification. The full system is 3" up until that point.

If you want to run a 3" Corsa system then you need to let us know, so we include the Z06 connection pipes that are 3".

Everything will bolt up. The LS2/LS3 X-pipes have neck downs to 2.5" at the end. Thanks!
