Rough Idle - High KM/Mileage 2006 C6
EDIT - Think I have the answers, but I will leave it up just in case others have this same question, so they can search it.
Hello everyone,
I just purchased a used higher mileage 2006. It runs and shifts great, quite amazed actually, but when it is sitting at idle (either in park or drive) is has a rough idle to it, sort of a shimmy, it is very subtle, but it is there.
Do you guys think it simply needs a tune up?
Thanks for any info in advance!

May be normal for a V8?
My 2007 with 53K miles does the same thing....kind of occasional shake every second or so. May be normal as at 600 RPM idle each individual piston is firing off pretty slowly.

My 2007 with 30,000 miles does the same thing.

Thanks, maybe it is just something I am not used to.

My 2006 has 125K miles and it does the same thing, just like it did when it was brand new. SBCs have a little rock to them at idle.
From your description I doubt there's anything wrong with your car, though it's tough to describe which vibrations are normal and which aren't.

OK thanks, seems like something I am just not used too. Since it is very consistent, and ordered, I will go with the fact it is the SBC/firing order.
Seems like most people have posted this is a normal thing.

I think it's normal also...but remember that these engines now idle at a very low speed...just over 600 rpm. In the old days, an engine wouldn't even be capable of running at that low a speed.
