I went from base to Z06 rotors and calipers with Goodridge braided brake lines. Massive difference/upgrade.
Went 2 piece rotors a few years latter -again improvement noticed especially on the track.

I have what you are wanting to do.
-you can use stock ZO6 brake lines you don't have to have stainless steel
-Stock ZO6/ZR1 wheels will fit over the brakes but they are too big for your tires and any tires you put on them will stick out the fenders and probably rub - you need aftermarket wheels (ACE, etc.) that have the proper offset for your application. The wheel companies know what you need.

if the brake lines are braided wether Z06 or not it is an "upgrade" as apposed to rubber braided lines the braided line has a teflon tubes core IE: no expansion.

It is an appearance upgrade and performance from a standpoint. Bigger brakes and rotors with stainless brake lines, will obviously work better than than the regular ones. I appreciate all the input on weather if its an upgrade or not ! But thanks jim2092, its nice to see some people can read and help.

what bigger brakes will do is give you more fade resistance (size) and better pad wear and feel (most pistons)

Did you have to get new dust covers? I got all 4 calipers the standard ZO6 delco rotors and the alignment pin set w/ pads. I wasn't sure on the dust covers and did you need anything else to do the swap?

You need the longer ZO6 brake lines, wheels that will clear the bigger rotors but keep the tires inside the fenders, and GM says to use new caliper bolts (but most do not bother). No new dust covers.
