Default Service Tire Monitor question

The battery in my 2005 C6 drained low and eventually died. I replaced the battery and ever since, I have had a service tire monitor error in DIC ever since. I went to a local tire shop, and I couldn't get the car into program mode. Neither could the tech.

Is there something special I need to do to get it into program mode?

I put the car in ACC mode, hit the reset button on the DIC, then try the program and still didn't work.

Thanks.

I assume you were pushing the lock and unlock buttons together on the fob to get to program mode?

Yep... pushed in both buttons... no dice.

The fob works just fine... unlocks everything, and the horn works as well...

I would first try a battery disconnect and see if that resets it.

Just to be clear, you push the bottom half of the start button to get it into ACC mode, then on the fob, HOLD DOWN both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time till the horn honks, then it is in program mode. Pushing reset on the DIC is not part of the deal.

Battery life in TPMS is expected 10 years. May be time to replace all 4 sensors. I recently went through a similar issue with me 2008 Silverado

It's just too much of a coincidence that a TPMS battery just happens to die at the same time that your car battery dies. Also, importantly, the sensors themselves are not relevant to getting the car into program mode. They could all be dead or missing and it would not keep the car from honking and entering the program mode....they would just not be there to actually program.
