Default Continental ExtremeContact DW Tires

Well after a long and well thought out research effort to find my next set of tires. I'm currently running Hankooks V12's on all four corners and they have roughly 40% tread left when I bought this car. The Hankooks are an ok tire but I was not going to purchase them again. My first choice in tires were the Michelin Pilot Super Sports but these tires are on a freaking nation wide back order. My second choice were the Continental ExtremeContact DW tires. So I purchased a set from tire rack, 275/35/18 for the fronts and 305/30/19 for the rears. I should have them installed in the next few weeks or so. I'm debating on if I want to powder coat my wheels or paint them. Here a couple of cell phone pictures for you fellow forum members.

The rears 305/30/19

The fronts 275/35/18

Curious to follow this...

IIRC, another member here tried these, and was very happy. I've ran these on another vehicle and am very happy - but not the GS.

Good to hear that you have experience with these. Once I install them I'll post feedback/review.

I ran the Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on my C5 during the 140,000 miles I drove it and I loved them. They have a great balance between grip and lasting a relatively long time. But the one time they were out of stock I ran the DW version and in my opinion they wore out much faster than the DWS's.

Just sayin'...

By the way, for anyone that doesn't know,
DW = Dry / Wet
DWS = Dry / Wet / Snow

Got the DW's installed today! I'm cleaning the rims up for their new face lift. I've decided to paint the wheels gloss black.

Rough clean job on these dirty wheels.

Update on my rim face lift didn't go as planned. So I scratched that idea and looked for a set of ZR1 reproductions but there is a casing issue with them so I purchase a set of TSW Nurburgring in Matte Black. They should arrive next week and then I can finally give some feedback on the tires.

I have some Continentals on a BMW and I'd have to say that I've been quite pleased with them.

Well after a month or so delay on my upgrades I finally got my new rubber on the ground. I like these Continental tires and I'm very pleased with my purchase. Let me know what you guys think of my new look (rims)?

Before rims and tires.

After look.

I'm waiting on my Jake Skull decal for my center caps then I will install them.

I run the Michelin Pilot Super Sport on my C6Z and the Continental ExtremeContact DW on my daily driver WRX. Both are good tires though from my experience I would say the Michelin PSS are a better performance tire and the Conti DW is a better rain tire. I think you'll be very happy with your purchase, especially if you drive your C6 in rain/for trips. Only if you're making big power or when pushing your car really hard would you have benefited from PSS.

I second this- the DW wear fairly rapidly.
