Default Flat Towing a C6

Hi Guys,
I got a motor home, and I'm tired of using a dolly to haul my '13 Chrysler 200 convertible. I'd really like to flat tow a 6-speed C6 with all 4 wheels on the ground, but GM says it's a non-no. I suspect that's lawyer-speak, but I don't know for sure. Does anyone have technical information on why this might be a problem? Has anyone out there actually done it?

I'm no expert...I wonder if it's due to the transmission being driven instead of doing the driving - perhaps the thrust bearings/clearances aren't set up to be loaded the opposite way of normal?

You could of course remove the half shafts but that would be a headache. Though, you would be the coolest dude in the campground so that might be worth it!

I think you'd have a tough time finding a tow bar that would work.

But I'm interested to learn what you learn. If you don't get good responses here, you might want to ask in an RV forum, those guys flat tow lots of different cars.

My friend flat tows a FWD saturn, I'll ask what he has to do and let you know. Maybe he removes the half shafts...

My friend told me his father flat towed his automatic Saturn for 60,000 miles, he did it in neutral and pulled two fuses to keep the battery from being drained (I think he had to leave the key on to get it into neutral).

I'm guessing the manual said to not do that...but he did. Your results may vary. lol

I think ground clearance under the tow bar would be the problem. You would be lucky to have 2".
