Default Question on the quick disconnect fittings on our fuel lines

I know there is the special tool used to disconnect the fuel lines.

My question is, ..... is the tool used to reconnect the lines, in a 'reverse' manner, or do you simple push the male in into female fitting until it seats?

Thanks.

No tool needed to reconnect them. Just push them together and they will snap together.

Tool needed, and only a few bucks at any auto parts store.

So as noted, the tool is just needed to push the connector inner prongs outwards to remove the line from the solid hose part, and to re-install, the couple just gets pushed on, which the solid line part will flair the spring parts back out to snap in place on their own again.

P.S, the fuel rail has a schrader valve on the front of the drivers side fuel rail. So before you remove the fuel line couplings, unscrews the cap off the schrader valve on the rail and push the valve in with a cup under it to relieve the gas pressure on the rail/lines.

It's more accurate to call them "quick connect" lines because they just click together. Their mission in life is to make cars easier to make.

Sometimes disconnection can be anything but quick. The tool can't reach the fitting or won't fully engage, and you have to fuss with it. I have a drawer of different quick-connect tools for such occasions.
