Default Diff replacement options - RPM?

Hey guys,

I searched but couldnt quite find the info I was looking for.

I have a c6 A&A with around 600 whp and my diff is toast. I called RPM and am looking at their stage 3 Diff for around $2,500. They seem like the best and the price seams relatively reasonable. Are there any other options I should be exploring before I pull the trigger?

Thank you!

All I can tell you is that it is cheaper to buy one from them then to build one your self. I had $5K in my diff by the time I was done. Granted, it is a Quaife, hardened everything and RPM ring and pinion with pump drive cut into the pinion. I also used all new parts.

DTE Performance: http://hoosierpe.com/

I have their Stage 2 4:10 differential.

The company was sold and used to be known as DTE Engineering, now DTE Performance. A forum sponsor too.

No problems after 6 yrs.

I will state that they recommended 75-140 diff oil. Redline to be exact. I have followed their recommendation.

Interesting enough my rear diff, is toasted too, just spins in all gears. I've heard nothing but great things about RPM, and I think the other company is DTE. I'm sure others will chime in. Are you upgrading the the rear axle's? and drive shaft?

Thanks for the mention. For reference, Hoosier Performance Engineering is our company name, we bought the DTE Performance company in November of 2013. DTE Performance products are still manufactured and available under our name.

Richor, we can help quote your project. We also have information on our website here:
http://www.shop.hoosierpe.com/C6-HPE...ckages_c52.htm

Ask for Scott who would be the best to brake down the package.

RPM is a stand up company and will be a great choice as well. When we are swamped with engineering projects (due to having 3 employees in the company) we refer our customer to RPM if we cannot make the customer deadlines. RPM has been in the industry a long time and supported the forums just as long. They would be an excellent choice to get you setup.

Wishing you the best and sorry to hear about your failure!

Cheers,
Jason Massey
General Manager

Do you think that would handle the HP levels?

No just the differential for now, I will wait for them to go out before I replace. Spent way too much money on this car in the past 60 days ! lol

Thank you! Pricing is about the same as RPM so I will stick with them since they quoted me first. Thanks for the honest opinion of them.

FYI I did end up going with the RPM stage 2 Diff. So far so good, havent hit the road race track yet but it seems a like the power is getting down a little better than before.

I have an 05 Z51 and it hasn't gone yet (100k miles) so looking into replacing.

Did you do the install yourself? If so, do you need a lift or can jack stands suffice?
TIA!

I did the install myself sir. Can be done in one day. You just need regular jack-stands & a pair of extra hands would be helpful!
