On the other side of the coin, Your 4.11 gears will also make up for low end issues

I used to have a 224 cam in my Corvette, and no issues, But I wanted a little more, so I bumped up to a 228R ( is not a large cam). I tell guys you can tend to lose some drivability with larger cams, so you can go a little smaller and make it up with a larger manifold and / or heads. Now that tends to cost a little more, but lose nothing on the low end.

ive read that the 224r has passed in CA so I'd look at the vrsp1 from vengeance racing. Even ask for a 115 lsa for slight lumpy idle. Don't forget to find some ls7 exhaust too

I have a 219/ 231 cam in an LS3 and here are the dyno results (with LS7 manifolds, CAI, and tune). It is small and has a very tiny amount of lope. Nothing that anyone would consider out of the ordinary. It was custom speced by PatG for the previous owner of my car. If you want the cam card just let me know.
Good luck!
