Actually you can launch the GTRs all you want now. The early 08-09s had issues, but those have been addressed.

6l80 in corvette is fine up to ~600rwhp, and tuning fixes 99% of shifting issues. Add a blower, get a good tune, enjoy.

A bunch of replies from people without an A6 in their car ... I "think" you can get an A6 to survive past 600 rwhp for a while. If and/or when it gets ghost - it's still cheaper to buy a new 1 than it is to buy a Mantic clutch or whatever the new "it" flavor of the month brand that is pushed by whomever seems to be popular this week

Any tuner that knows what they are doing. Without a location I say drive to Flordia to have Matt@FPS tune it, or Pat G in Texas, or Ryne in California, or Fran in Delaware...

Tuned plenty of 650rwhp a6 cars that have 60k+ miles of being beat on.

A new 6l80 is cheaper than $1400 for a clutch? That seems pretty amazing...

New A6 at dealer online prices are in the $2,600 range. Used are roughly half of that. Be careful that the tuner doesn't do a "feel good" tune, rather than one that will last without damaging it. Outlandish claims are usually places to avoid.

Very good point. Use a tuner with proven records at the drag strip, road track, half mile/mile, etc. Even if you have no intention of racing, knowing a tuner can build reliable proven cars means you're not just dealing with advertisement and showmanship.

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine had to have his THE automatic rebuilt. The skid pad and the GTR awd statement get along well. The cost was north of 7,000.00, and no factory warranty.

I have a 07 a6 supercharged and ever since the guy that did the Install told me he did a trans tune twice the car has gone into limp mode because it is almost as if it doesn't know what gear to go into during street driving so I have to ride paddle shift all the time

in recently drove a gtr amd lambo at a local track event. Hands down would take the lambo over gtr and price of gtr was more. Made no sense to me, guess it's all preference. I've always been a lamborghini fan from a ver young age so maybe I'm bias.
My son would prefer the gtr....maybe it's a generation thing.
