Exhaust sound Sucks!!
I just had a set of long tube headers put on with the cats deleted,X Pipe into stock exhaust back to and using the dual mode exhaust on my 2010 Grand Sport........Was trying to get a little more sound without pulling fuse on Dual mode (Tried that and the drone almost made me pull out what little hair I have left out)........Any suggestions?....With headers and cats deleted it made no difference in sound....Is it possible to gut the stock resonators or maybe different resonators and still be able to use dual mode?
Thanks

If I were you I would try to find someone with headers and Corsa sports or Borla touring or S-type II and see if that would make you happy before spending any money.
Resonators will just take money from your pocket.
Good Luck,

I'm with you on that. I had catted LTs to stock npp and it was just not a clean sound. I threw on some corsa extremes and man does it sound better but its really loud. Even extremes still drone. So I'd have to recommend corsa sports or anything quieter as the LTs will make an otherwise quiet exhaust really loud. Now I'm considering selling the corsa to go back to npp.

Corsa Sports will make the kind of sound that you want.

Maybe try adjusting the flappers in the dual mode so they do not open all the way. Could try different variations of open till you get a sound you can live with.

As 87SAM posted above. Last year there was a post where someone used some small shaft collars on the NPP exhaust actuator rods, this held the valves slightly open and provided adjustability for more or less sound.

My lts with NPP's sound great...although I always have them open.
I don't have any drone...and if I did..I'd just close them.
Subjective topic...but as others have said..find others who have lts with differing cat backs and see what suits you.

Yes the SLP loud mouth will wake up the Vette, if you can stand the drone. I had them on, but decided to switch to the Corsa Pro. Not happy with the sound, but no drone at all.
I do have the SLp's for sale if you are interested..., but beware of the drone.

i drove it straight from north nj to myrtle beach sc...the drone was "prevalent" lol. with the top down its really not bad though.

I hate the drone, but that usually only happens at a certain speed/rpm. I use the mild-2-wild remote to close NPP when cruising at that speed.
Install the M2M with no battery drain, starts up with open then turn closed whenever the drone happens.

I have my NPP cracked about 1/4 when in the switch is the closed position. I used 5mm id split collars which can be installed in 5 min without taking anything apart.

The C6 sound is pathetic, not even remotely what one (well, most of us) wants to hear.
Since you put on LT's, have you considered a cam and aftermarket exhaust? I did this as part of my build, and ended up with exactly what I thought an American car with muscle should sound like.
ARH LT's with cats / cam / B&B Fusion exhaust as part of my previous build:

I think Dave was just thinking out loud when he asked the question, or he doesn't like our suggestions

Thanks everybody....The suggestions will help....This is my 5th Vette and have them modded all different ways.Plan a SC this year for the GS.......Have a road trip planned from Palm Beach Fl. To Dexter Main then over to Ohio and back to Fl....After that won't really care about drone...Liked the idea of using the collars, does anybody have any pics where they go?

Funny that you say that, I have an 09 LS3 with Kooks 1-7/8" headers and a catless x-pipe, along with the factory NPP. I actually think it's one of the best sounding exhausts on any car I have owned or driven. Mine is my DD, so I drive it a few hundred miles a week. I put a switch in the car that overrides the NPP by cutting the power to it. When I want it a little louder, I just flip the switch. Cost me like $10 for the switch and relay.
