To tune or not to tune that is the question!
Is there any noticeable performance benefit what- so- ever in tuning, either hand held, street tune or dyno tuning a 2008 totally stock LS3 with 32000 miles. I am a more show then go owner but I love to stick my foot in it from time and run it on up there. I would much rather spend my money on neat accessories then on something that would be marginal at best.

yes yes ten thousand times yes!!!! how many times do people need too ask? if you have it done by the right person it could be 30 hp, not to mention 100 other good things a tune does. if you just like shiney crome do-dads, then don't worry about it but please don't post your pics of your GS stripes on "tech and performance" because it's not!

I would not mess with it.
Their is a down side to this. AKA .... Bad tuners
Doing a dyno tune will probably cost you 300 plus.
If you were going to do some bolt on upgrades then yes you would have to.
Use the money for a road trip.

Now that was funny ....
If you do not have any mods .... maybe I would do a Diablo Sport and load the 93 octane tune if you can get 93 octane
Some say they cannot feel the difference but you need to put a few miles on the car before you will feel anything as the ECM need time to adjust
If you have an Automatic trans, then also load the TCM tune and set it to firm , this you will feel right out of the gate the first time you pounce on it and it shifts into second
And if you need to take it in for service or you want to sell the Diablo because you don't like it , just re-flash and it will put your stock tune back in
The next mod would be a Throttle Controller or a Chuck Cow Booster , these are one of the absolute best mods you can do for the money and you will feel the change right out of the gate just like the trans tune
the throttle lag built into a corvette is almost a rude joke
I chose the Vitenesse Throttle controller for a few reasons , one I can set it to any setting that I like and two I can unplug it if something should go wrong, if I sell the car, or take it in for service

If you have an automatic, the biggest improvement will be felt in tuning the transmission to your liking. I've tweaked my timing tables and transmission with HPTuners. I firmed up the shifts slightly, eliminated a considerable amount of the torque management, and increased full throttle shift speeds and rpms.
I should also add that I have the Vitesse and love it - it eliminates the laggy throttle and you can adjust the sensitivity to the level that suits you.

Removing much of the torque management will make it feel like a new car. Follow that up with a throttle controller and you'll think you gained a ton of HP.

If you don't plan to do at least an intake or exhaust save the cash. A base tune on an Auto probably has the most impact, but it sounds like you prefer the cosmetic accessories.

Based on your preference for cosmetic mods as opposed to performance mods, I'd try a throttle controller first. The Vitesse unit in particular is relatively inexpensive, can be installed by the user, and can be adjusted on the fly. It will increase the driving pleasure without necessarily improving the performance. For someone who's not chasing every last horsepower or et, this sounds like it would be perfect for you. Plus if you don't like it and/or you sell the car, it can easily be removed and sold separately.

You have on a few options.....
Is there any noticeable performance benefit what- so- ever in tuning, either hand held, street tune or dyno tuning a 2008 totally stock LS3 with 32000 miles. If you're after "noticeable performance" the answer is simple.
There is no tuning package available the comes close to what my CoW BOOSTER! and TUNE PACKAGE offers.
Chinese throttle controllers included...... NOTHING compares to the CoW BOOSTER!
Call any time if you have questions. There's several ways we can package our tuning solution.
