Default Service indicators on 09

We were out for a ride today and hit a bump and soon after our display showed Service warnings for Active Handling, ABS, and Traction Control. Any ideas would be a big help.

If that is the first time it has happened and hasn't happened again since then, I suspect the bump was probably significant enough to jolt one or more connectors in the system and cause a transient signal to the computer. These cars are very sensitive to electronics signals being "out of range" for the computer.

I say just watch it for repeat and don't worry. I doubt anything is actually wrong. If it does show again then you should have it diagnosed with a code scanner.

reboot. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if it comes back, if it does, then get concerned.

I would check all the spark plug wires for tight connections at both ends. Second would be a check of the two big blue connectors in the under-carpet fuse box on the passenger side.

After hitting a bump? wheel sensor is possible culprit and also check all spark plug wires, though you should get a flashing check engine light and rough sounding engine even at idle if a spark wire popped off a coil.

Reboot was the answer. Disconnected battery for a while then reinstalled terminal. When I started it, the indicators were still on. I thought I still had an issue. However, I went for a drive and indicators went out. Haven't come back since.

When it cools, I will also check the spark plug wires just in case.

Thanks guys for your help. C6 Forum is the best!!!
