So, as you guessed... it won't bolt up. Is there an adapter I can buy? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. I did some searching. There's a lot of information about upgrading the differential, but I'm keeping the stock differential and swapping the transmission.

You have to swap that rear housing that connects to the diff in order for your trans to fit. When you do that I'll purchase that 07 tail housing from you?

Tail housing is what you are looking for

Call RPM or you can try to find the right one through some GM parts websites. There are a few different versions though, RPM has figured out exactly what you need.
