Default 2013 Grandsport - Tirewear

Hi all, how many miles should be expected on the OEM 2013 Grand sport tires? Thanks.

Assuming that you have had the alignment checked and probably corrected. If not, the inside edges will be gone quickly.

Wow; The car has 8,000 miles on it; The tires look like they may last another 1,000. Interesting.

My rears were worn out on the outside edges at 10k miles. The car had 7k miles when I got it. I bought new tires (Cooper Zeon RS-3), had an alignment done, and at 5k miles on the new tires they still look new. I had a "custom street alignment " by a local Corvette specialist.

Wow really! I'm new to the C6 world and did not know this. So this is no taking the car to the dealership and getting it aligned under warranty correct? What warranty do the OEM tires have on them?

I'd say those questions are best addressed by your dealer or an official Goodyear retailer.

....get new tires and go to someone who will align the car properly....if they go back to stock settings you will be back in the same boat....find someone who knows what they are doing and tell them why you are there....

Something close to a 0 toe and 0 camber is what you are looking for. Any good alignment guy can help you out.
The inside edges of all four of my tires were completely gone when I finally got around to looking at them. The inside edges are real easy to miss on these wide tires.
I had mine aligned to the above specs about 35k miles ago. The fronts still look new...the rears, well for some reason they wore out faster. Who would have thought.

Not quite, you still want a little bit of negative camber in the rear for decent handling (unless you only drive in a straight line ). Here's what you want:

Performance Street Alignment:
Front min max
Camber (deg) -0.7 -0.9
Caster (deg) 7.5 8.5
Toe -1/16" 0
Rear
Camber (deg) -0.4 -0.6
Toe -1/16" 0
Notes
These settings will provide good performance and good tire wear.

I got 15k miles out of the GoodYear SuperCar tires (RF) that came on my 2013 Grand Sport. They were bald at 14k. Some say that the factory alignment is a bit to aggressive, but still, they were like rock hard grease slicks at the 13-14k point...The GY's may be the worst tire I've ever driven on. Currently, I have over 15k on my current set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports (Non RF) & there's still a good deal of tread life left on them.

These are what should have came on the Grand Sports >>>

I put the RunFlat version on 7,000 miles ago and the tires still look like brand new !!

They are so much quieter than the Goodyear runcraps I had on the car

why doesn't mine? 06 78,000 miles had it done once at 24,000 and it was on spec, I get 25,000 out of 320 wear rating tires, the inside of the tire WILL always wear first it's in the way the tire moves thru it's arc, if your running directional tires rotate side to side on the front every 7-8000 on the rear every 10-12000 Z51's in 05-07 ran a softer tire and they were only getting about 12,000 out of a set. my guess that's the same with the GS. the tire's on a Vette DO NOT sit completely flat on the ground

Better list to print out and hand to the tech for a street alignment, hence has not wiggle room isntead.

I took another look at my tires and the wear actually seems pretty even with a bit more in the middle of the tire.
