Max rear wheel that will fit c6

Standard C6 has a 10" X 19 rear rim. I know with the Michelin super sports maximum widths are: 295/30/19, 295/35/19 and 305/35/10, but not a 305/30/19. Ideal height should be about 1.2" taller in the rear, however I am running 1" with no issues. Check tire rack for specs on tires your are interested.

With a street DOT tire....
Typically speaking a 305-30-19 is a safe tire to run on it at almost any ride height without rubbing anything.
325-30-19's fit too, but depending on the wheel/offset/alignment these can and sometimes do rub under full bump. Should do an 11" wheel for that one.
Drag tires generally a 275 width, 26" or 27" tall is about all I would do.
Road race tires 305-685-19
I would say generally speaking I wouldn't go wider than 11" wheel at the back and no more than 325 with stock fenders.
Like others have posted you have to watch what you do for tire height to keep the computer happy.

Do a search. Some who ran 305/30/19 street tire on a 10" rim experience squirrely feeling at higher speeds. Squeezing a larger tire on a smaller rim rolls up the shoulder of the tire which reduces tire tread width that it was designed for.
I went through all this and ended up changing rims to accommodate 305/30/19 tires.
Just stay within the recommended rim range of the tire you select.

My choices were:
1. Run a street drag radial and stay off wet roads.
2. Keep oem rims and put on 295 tires in the back.
3. Aftermarket rims to fit 305/30/19 tires to maximize tread width.
I chose #3 and happy I did.

I too wanted the sleeper look and tried to stick with the oem split spoke wheels. The combination of being boosted, Z51 gearing and 285 tires didn't work well for traction.
My choices were:
1. Run a street drag radial and stay off wet roads.
2. Keep oem rims and put on 295 tires in the back.
3. Aftermarket rims to fit 305/30/19 tires to maximize tread width.

Google 'tractionmonster' thread. You can run a much stickier tire and a 305/35-18 properly on a modifed OEM front wheeI. I think you may be able run a 305/40 and gain a ton of sidewall as well but you will have to increase the front tire dia a little to keep nannies happy, or shut them off. Nt05r has a 305/35 and 555r comes in 305/40. You could also do an Nt05r in a 285/40-18 which is a lot more side wall. Just mod the wheel width accordingly.
Weld craft charges around 240 shipped to mod each wheel. OEM is highly recommended over a repo for this process.

this
you can run the Mickey Thompson 305/35r/19 street radial without doing anything.they were designed for the stock size 10'' rim.I run them on 2 cars with no issues.they do not cause any issues with TC or AH if running stock height front tires
