Brandon,

Nice work and looks like it's going well, should be bleeding the coolant system around 9pm tonight if you try hard.

Quick question though? On the corner of your newly purchase TM heads, there are some cast numbers. Am I reading those casting numbers correctly? TFS LS1

Hey Z06, the serial number reads TS-LS-1-I .These are Tony's own head, not Trick Flows. Budget was in mind when I choose these heads but my first thought was to get some Trick Flows. In reality I only saved a few hundred because I ended up purchasing aftermarket rockers anyways. I know a bunch of people are making 500 rwhp with TF heads and big cam but I wanted a mild setup that was driver/wife friendly and make close to 500 as I can.

Well in reality you got exactly what you wanted. Those heads are TFS castings that Tony is doing the finishing touches on.

They are based off the TFS 220 ls1 casting Tooley designed some years back. Whats your cam specs?

I noticed you were calculating around 11.5 comp with a .040 gasket and the chambers being milled to 63.5cc. Given the act of 13.5 degree valve's, it wouldn't surprise me even with milling you'll gain PTV.

That's close to 1 full point of compression bump from the factory, you should be stoked. That in itself will bee a wow factor.

Making 500 to the tires is not so difficult as most make it seem. I just did an 02 trans/am LS1 with 205cnc TFS heads, and a 230/240 camshaft and made 502 and 443.

With the LS6 intake and stock tb the same motor made 440whp and 410wtrq.

Z06, I wasn't aware that these were TF as cast? My cam specs are 230/234 .612/.598 114. My previous setup on an unknown dyno hit 425 rwhp and 390 tq, on the same dyno a 2008 Z06 hit 418 rwhp for reference.

My original plan was to send my heads to AI and have them do my heads but I went back and forth. In the end I'm happy with my decision on parts selection.

TM can chime in, but that's exactly the casting number on the TFS 220 casting I have for my A6 C6 ls2.

Much smaller cam 223 / 231 which dicates my compression will stay around 11.0, my car made 400whp / 400wtq.

Your car will run very well, and you did the right thing buying aftermarket castings, why spend 1000 to port a stock set of heads when you can buy the latest greatest for a bit more money. Hoping you've purchased injectors as my stockers have seen 91-92% with only FAST 102 and 1 3/4 headers.

I'm located 30 miles from AI, while Ive never dealt with them personally most seem to be happy.

Z06, yeah I purchased a set of OEM LS7 injectors with the FAST spacers. I'm looking forward to the added compression and air flow from these heads!

Yeah no doubt, I'll continue my install Friday. Then order my pushrods so it won't be on the road for another week or so. I won't do any high end pulls until final tune is performed.

Today I installed the Mamo heads! I run into a couple of snags, first one was I misplaced one head stud washer The other snag that I realized I don't have any 12 point sockets for some reason? Anyways I ordered a set of 10 ARP washers from summit and they should be here in a couple days. I'm going to torque the drivers side head down so I can measure the push rod length and order those too. Here are a couple of pics of the heads on the block.

Summit Racing is AWESOME!
I ordered these washers yesterday afternoon shipped from Reno to my door less than 24 hours on regular shipping!

Now let's put you fellow Corvette forum guys to the test. I've been cranking my motor over with tire method, this method sucks for finding top dead center.

My question is, should I drop the front cradle and jack up the motor a bit? Let's see what suggestions you guys have.

Use a ratchet and extention on the crank pulley.

Screw all spark plugs in except number one

Hey Z06, I should have given a little back ground on my scenario. All the plugs are out, the main issue is my ATI balancer has a smaller window/hole than the OEM balancer. Check my picture.

I can't get a sock just by hand, I think dropping the cradle and jacking up the motor is the only way besides the two person tire method. I need more friends
(This was intended as a joke, thanks John)

Jack up engine and see if you get enough room. It's literally two nuts, won't take but a minute
