Default Unreal dyno numbers on my base LS3 car!!

2008 LS3 Base C6 M6 Z51 Car

Mods:
Vararam
TSP Longtubes, No Cat X-Pipe
Dyno Tune
M2W for NPP

I was expecting 415-430 to the ground based on my years of research on this board and seeing everyone else's dyno numbers. Couldn't be more ecstatic to hear from Lamar Walden that my car was "stupid strong" and put down 453.9HP and 450Ft. Lb's of twist!!!!

I seriously didn't believe him when he told me on the phone earlier today.. Needless to say, I'm very, very, very, very pleased

Sorry, should've prefaced. The first runs were with all mods, no tune..

Crazy numbers indeed.

I have never seen that high with your mods, not even close.

Seems at least 25 rwhp high.

Go run off with a Z06 C6 and see how you do.

I'm 100% in agreement with this statement. Absolutely cannot believe the car did so well. I understand that dyno #'s don't mean squat if you can't drive but holy smokes, this is easy 20-30 more than I've seen over the years here on the forums..

The car felt like it too on the way home!

Rob at LWA said the car was running pig rich pre-tune. Said he usually doesn't see 40HP from a tune on a similarly modded car, more like 20-30 tops..

I think you're inferring that maybe they somehow fudged the numbers? To be honest, I was thinking BS when they told me too. Then I thought to myself, why would a huge name speed shop with lots of history here in ATL bother trying to impress me of all people?

I'm not at the track, don't belong to any clubs etc.. Yes I posted on the forums, but it's not like they need my promotion, they're a household name..

Regardless, I want to believe!! Just having a hard time reasoning as to why my car would put down that much more power then your average, similarly modded LS3 car...

They all run pig rich pre-tune, but picking up 40 on a tune might mean it's now running too lean. Great numbers, but be careful.

I have pretty much the same mods plus a few and only dyno 394. However, the 4000 stall kills off some power.

Don't forget different dynes read different numbers, I've seen some heart breakers before people claim they make xxxHP ft/lbs get on another dyno and its over 100 less. Numbers don't mean anything. Traps speed in the 1/4 will really show a cars power.

Yeah, the car def doesn't make 100HP less.. Also, if you read above, you'll see where I noted that dyno numbers "don't mean squat".

Regardless, I'm happy with the gain in power SOTP, and the dyno was just icing on the cake.

I've seen plenty in the 430-440hp range, maybe it's the 1 7/8 headers I have instead of the 1 3/4?

I could see the possibility that between the bigger primaries, LWA's tuning skills (which they're well known for in the LSX community) and possible that my car is a bit of a factory freak, that I put these numbers down?

I wasn't say your car doesn't make power. Just stating a fact I've seen "500 hp" cars get beat pretty bad at the track by other cars making low 400 high 300 on other brand dynos. (not corvettes) Either way solid numbers. But like i said the best way to compare before and after is 1/4 trap speeds. Nothing shows a good power gain like some more MPH.

Some people get way too wrapped up in the numbers.

Good luck man, maybe with the heat you'll get a bit better bite. I feel your pain with the stall, lots of power and street tires. I have a hard time getting my sled out the hole with the 6 speed!

I'm on Pilot SS's and they do well for a street tire, just wish I could dead hook from some decent rpm!

Yep. I doubt ill get any nice ET I just want to see what mph it is and go from there with more mods. I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on the car and from 1st its worthless and shifting into 2nd it spins. If i baby it and then go WOT around 70-80 it'll hook that way but then its no fun since it isn't using 1st or a lot of power in 2nd.

No doubt! Unreal humidity here lately. What a blistering summer this has been.

Best night at commerce is opening night (March i believe?), the cool, dry air, early spring has made for some memorable passes for me!
