They aren't doing tnt this week because of a race event: http://statecapitolraceway.com/calendar.htm

Next full TnT day is on the 16th, and I could probably go to that one.

there's no reason I shouldn't be able to go to that one. Plus I'll have my new intake manifold by then.

There's a chance that I'll be out of town, so when the time gets closer PM me to see if I can go.

You could also try less timing. An efficient combustion chamber will work the same with less timing and possibly free up mph at the top end. How's the compression with the tfs heads? What head gaskets were used? There are so many things that can cause a slow trap but IATs is the first thing that comes to mind.

Usually, at least for me the better traction or 60ft the better mph trap. I was running 11.3@123 with a semi aggressive cam, 1 3/4 headers, or x pipe, base non npp exhaust and stock air intake before the sc. So I would certainly expect a lot more from your combo. Good luck and thumbs up for a fellow service member.

I'm not sure which head gaskets are on the car, I got it with the heads already installed. I have hptuners now and I'm 99% sure the tune was the issue. The first log in took the car was picking up knock. But I got a good deal on a tune when I bought hptuners so the car is in the process of being retuned by a tuner with a pretty good reputation. With just the base tune the car feels completely different and no more knock what so ever.

I'm in the same boat you are OP. I feel like my car isn't trapping what it should be. I'm an M6 car, Halltech mf103, 1.75 Catted long tubes, NPP mufflers, BTR stage 4 cam. Suppose to be making 480whp but it's only trapping 122mph. Ran a best of 11.6 @ 122 with a 1.77 60' on NT05R 275/40/17. Weather was in the 70s this weekend and about 3000 DA is what I was told. I'll be following this thread to see what happens. But I plan on getting a retune for my car soon.

weather will kill a car. My best before the tune was touch when the car supposedly put down 450 was 11.7@118 with a 1.7x 60'. Installed a wideband the car had arf in the 10.8:1 had the tune adjusted and then arf were around 11.8-12.2 went to the track with temps in the lower 70s mid 60s with a da around 1100 the car ran 11.4@123 with a 1.74 60'.

Next weekend with temps back in the upper 70s and a da in the 2000s arf still high 11s low 12s car once again runs 11.7@118 with a 1.7x 60'.

I'm going to try to get to a track this weekend and see how the new tune does.

What rpm is it shifting at? You want to make sure you're spinning it high enough to take advantage of the cam and heads and that trans has been tuned for faster shift speeds, more line pressure, torque mgmt reduced, etc. If trans wasn't tuned I can see you leaving some MPH on the table......

Update to the old thread.
The tune was redone by Shane Hinds. The car ran 11.4@123 with temps in the mid 80s and a da around 1500-1800 cut a high 1.7 60ft. The drag radials were slipping on the wheel (the person used the lube to mount them) had the tires taken off cleaned and remounted. Got a new xpipe without cats. Took the car back to the track with temps in the 60s and a da around 300-500 and the car ran 11.0 back to back at 126-127. Went back with no passenger seat and ran a 11.0@126 then a 10.9@127 hot lapping the car.

Thanks for the update. I too just got my car retuned with the same mods and picked up 23hp/21tq over the previous tune that was in the car. Sad to say he was such a reputable tuner. I will not be recommending him to anybody. The new tune feels great. I'm excited to hit the track this weekend.

I also picked up a BER ported ls3 intake. Who was the car tuned by and qbo redid it?

Several years ago I had a similar experience with a well known traveling tuner. It was a "feel good" tune, but gave no real performance increase. A dyno retune by a local tuner produced much better results. Timeslips beat butt dynos every time.

hell time slips beat real dyno slips a lot lol. The only dyno slip I have is from before I bought the car and it's a old slip right around 408 whp.
