Default I need answers on cams but no bull.

I own a 2005 C6 coupe automatic with Magnaflow cats,Flowmaster back halph exhaust,Diablo In-tune and 273 gears. I want a cam that gives more hp. with a rough idle. Don't tell me to change intake, heads, gears and what ever, I am not alone who wants this. So many ask this question and the answers are all the same but not what we want. I can buy a supercharger and add 120hp. but I don't want that much(streets in Quebec Canada are not made for it). Can someone give us the answer? Thanks!

What's wrong with Quebec streets.

Best is get with a good cam guy and they can spec one to do exactly what you want. Cost is peanuts if anything.

I used Pat G. but there are a bunch of well respected guys for this.

My friend, I get where you are coming from, but if you want a cam that makes more power and has a rough idle you are going to need new valve springs and a torque converter. Not to mention a good tune, on both the ECM and the TCM.

Anyone who sells you a cam will at least specify this, now with that said, I'm a big fan of Brian Tooley Racing cams (made my comp cams). Check out my old build, it was stock engine, intake, heads, etc. The list of the mods are there, it did 488 rwhp tuning with HP Tuners.

I agree with 08 here, I've dealt with Arun on many occasions and he knows his stuff. I recently installed a mild cam in my LS2. Specs on the cam are 230/234 .612/.598 114 done by Comp Cam. Here is a short idle video, this cam has excellent driving manners.

Hey Dave,

Its a manual transmission. Thank you for the compliment. Here is a start up video of when it was first installed, that video I posted earlier was with more compression and my Mamo heads.

08, are you running stock idle rpm?

Is there any "pulling" against the converter ?

Seems you don't have headers the factory exhaust runs out of breath @ 5,500 rpms with out cam so if you want to get a cam at list get a ls7 exhaust manifolds but ebay long tube headers are plenty cheap for about the same price so you can realize full cam benefits.

Notes notes notes... I wish i new the specs of the g6x1 by LG (comp cam). Although i do very much trust LG and they told me their cam is biggest can be on stock engine with our without a higher stall, and easy to tune... I just don't want it to break anything in the engine on the long run. I gotta pull the trigger very soon. My shop choise seem to be be the best here in CA.
