Default Vararam Snake Charmer How to clean

I bought 2011 GS and previous owner has this installed.

Car only has 11K miles, however I just want to check the filter.

Looked on line at Vararam PDF it did not give details on how to remove.

I see that there are 2 clips one on each side where the filter should be located. It appears I will have to loosen or remove the air bridge clamps that are up on top closer to the MAF/Throttle body. Does it require complete removal of the air bridge.

Anyone that has this set up and cleaned the filter, I would appreciate any details or tips on how to do this.

I did read the post on how to clean the filter and have a K&N cleaner kit that should work.

Any input would certainly help.

Thanks,
JB

You are 100% on target ... no tips, you got this ....

Unclip from lower portion , i do loosen all the clamps holding the center metal section to the air bridge and throttle body as it makes it easier to remove top section . Once you have the top section out of the car , pop the filter and follow the directions for cleaning and re oilling ... do not.. ..do not .... over oil the filter ... , then just reassemble and make sure you have the two halfs properly aligned

Good luck

Dave,
Thanks . It kind of look like that was the way it had to come out. Agree on the over oiling and will use a marker/line to help align reinstall. Again thanks.

As an alternative, you could skip the clean & re-oil and just buy one of these throwaway filters that actually filter better. You will however, need to sand/cut the length down by about 1/4". BTW, they even seal better too.

Wipe the cold air intake duct clean as well while you have it apart. Also, its a great time to inspect and clean the MAF sensor and Throttle body. Use the appropriate products.
MAF sensor has an arrow indicating air flow direction, make sure you reinstall correctly.

Do not use the K&N oil kit -- you should use the Green Filter cleaning kit

Good reminder. Yes I use a product that says Throttle body/MAF cleaner and not some generic cleaner.
