Default Looking for options/opinions on 07 LS2 head/intake swap

I'm planning on adding some heads to my 07 LS2 and am looking for opinions and options. Will probably do an intake at the same time. I have 3 broken bolts on my heads and am using this as an excuse to change out the heads. My only mods at this time is a Vararam, Borla axle back, and a tune. I live in California so I want to stay smog legal. Not going to change the cam at this point but am thinking of changing the rocker arms to a higher ratio. I'm struggling between getting some better Cathedral port heads or doing the LS3 swap. I've read that several people have done the LS3 swap but have not many have stayed with the cathedral type. So in the end I will be adding some higher ratio rockers (definitely looking for some suggestions here), Fast Intake, ported LS2 T/B, and some heads (undecided on which heads). Looking for some opinions or other options.
Appreciate any help or opinions.

Thanks Ken

Heads are depending on budget in my opinion. I went with a set of as cast Trick Flow heads with Tony MAMO working his magic on them. They are priced well and I added a set of .030 head gaskets to bump up compression and Yella Terra roller rockers spec'd by Tony. I live in California as well.

I went with CNC ported LSA heads. You have a ton of options out there.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the input. Both look like they will serve my purpose. I will look more into these options.

Thanks again, Ken

Are you using a stock throttle body?

Stocker is good to 1,000 or so HP.

I have a NW102, bought more for looks than performance, picked something like 2 RWHP. The dyno error is more than that.

Thanks timd38, I will probably stick with the stock TB and if anything have it ported, thanks again.

LS3 CNC ported heads were my choice on the LS2. The LS3 heads, cam, and LS3 intake on an LS2 would make a nice combination.

That is what I did. Picked up 100WHP over stock LS2 with headers and a tune.

Brandon are you running a stock cam?

Are there any concerns with running a stock LS2 cam with the LS3 upgrades? I plan on purchasing the heads, intake, and rockers so it's not like it would add cost going the LS3 way. On the flip side I'm worried about having the excess capacity with the LS3 equipment and a stock cam messing with the flow/velocity of the heads. Not sure if this should be a concern or not.

This set up is not smog friendly.
