Default Does anyone make a good diff brace for an Auto C6?

I'm looking for a good diff brace for my auto C6. Already broke the output shaft, the diff and the plate between the trans and the diff launching the car at the track on 15's so I'm looking for a brace for it now.

Anyone else running one on their auto?

I'm also looking for the plate that goes between the trans and the diff if anyone has one laying around.

Lmk fellas! Thanks!

If it's a 6L80 car than nobody makes them. A member had some custom ones done, of which I have one but they are no longer available.

For 4L's I'm not really sure but don't recall seeing them. Maybe check with ECS.

Yeah... its a built 6L80E car. I'd like to find one. The shop I use can fab one up but I figured I'd see if anyone offered one before we go that route.

Yeah. Someone really should make them. I've seen the question more than once. Nobody does unless you come across one of the ones subfloor had made a few years ago. Shouldn't be hard to make one but like you said, easier to just buy.

I agree. I've looked around and I'm surprised that they are only offered for manual trans cars. Def easier to buy. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one of these floating around! Looks like a nicely fabbed brace!!

Funny. I actually thought of that one that David has for sale. It is definitely not for the right application but could be a good starting point to modify if he will let it go cheap.

Hmm... I wonder if the mounts on that brace are correct for my 6L80E and diff? I don't mind fabbing the length if needed. I've bought several parts from David in the past. I'll have to hit him up to see if he will cut me a deal since it'll be a project part.

I appreciate the help and the link fellas!

The mounts are not right. You can see by comparing to the pic of mine. It still may be easier to alter that one than start from scratch.

We have made braces for A6's before, we just do not get a lot of calls for them. I'll see if we have brackets ready to go. I'll PM you.

Wow! I've never heard of anyone breaking the A6 like that before.
Most people switch them out at anything over 700whp, because the popular view on here is that they're weak, although I believe they get a bad rep from people fricking up the tune by switching to SD and the like.
realcanuk is putting down over 1000hp through his, and I've seen vids of a few car, mostly from Texas, IIRC, that make serious numbers with them, including that yellow C6 that runs in the 8s.
I don't want to hijack, but what's your combo like, and what kind of power are you putting down? That thing must be hooking with a good converter to break the drivetrain apart like that?
And please keep us posted if you find a solution for this brace. It's too bad that subfloor doesn't make them anymore. He's certainly proven the strength of the A6s.

My car makes around 1000 through the auto. Havent had it on a dyno yet. Current setup is a built 416 at 10.0 compression with a Vortech YSI on kill. Trans is a new fully built 6L80E with a 3600 FTI converter. Car is on e85. Everything inside the trans is perfect. It just broke the rear output shaft which is a simple fix.

Old setup was stock LS3 with cam, bolt-ons, T-trim on 13 lbs on 93/meth. Car made 750 or so then and went 9.55 @ 144 on the first built trans that took a dump thanks to some bad tuning.

That yellow car is Austin Hickman's old car. Went 8.79 on the 6L80E. I'm shooting for that record. I considering going to a glide but I street the car 80% of the time. The 6 speed auto makes it nice on the street and highway. If this trans doesn't last... I may go glide but my trans builder/tuner is the same person now. He has the 6L80E's figured out. He's the one that told me my old one went bad due to tuning. When tuned right... he said they can handle the power I'm throwing at it and they can last. I hope he's right.

I have an ECS, but I have a manual. I would give ECS a call and see if they will make you one. They are really nice people and always very helpful when ever I have talked to them.

Your only investment is phone call!

Ok. I'll give them a shout. Hopefully they can put something together for me even if it's just the brackets. I'm not opposed to modifying that one David has but the less modification required the better!

Doug,

Please PM as well. Not only did I destroy the "built" A6 but I also took out the Z06 differential case as well. And this was on run #3 of a newly built 2012 GS on NT05R DR's with zero traction. See pics to witness the carnage.

Looks very similar to how mine broke. Output shaft snapped, the plate between trans and diff broke and the ears on the diff itself broke off as well.
