Default Clunky transmission sound only when shifting

When I'm driving around town and I shift from a lower gear to a higher gear, as soon as I let my foot off the clutch I can hear a sort of clunking or rattle sound for a split second. This happens in pretty much any gear. 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th. This sound only happens when I let my foot off the clutch, it doesn't happen when I physically move the shifter into a different gear.

But it seems to only happen when I'm shifting to a different gear. If I press the clutch in and then let the clutch out without shifting there is no sound.

Any idea what this could be?
